Yes, God constantly knocks at our door through people, situations, and events. Every moment is a mission moment which invites us to share the light within. We are not to stand on the sidelines, too scared to do anything about the situations around us but to embrace it with a message of love announcing God’s reign Here & Now.
In the promised land
God is …….at work in us
“The heart is the innermost person or spirit. Pray and entreat that in due time love for God may stir within you by his grace” – Keats
At the entrance of the cave of heart I stood silently, I know if I go in; there is more to God, to myself and to life. But how to get there?
Allow God to do it for you? The eternal treasures of spiritual life lies at the center said our retreat directors Fr. Pravin Sj and Dinesh Sj. Heart is therefore the center of our being that which directs us to our ultimate values and choices. Allowing ourselves to be enveloped by silence, with a spirit of surrender we began our journey.
The main focus of our journey was:
To recognize more clearly the mystery of god present within us, quietly at work. To seek for the interior knowledge of His love, purpose and dream for me.
To know Jesus more clearly, to love Him more intimately and to follow Him more closely day by day.
The desire to meet God within called us to silence the inner noises. We also recognized the need for handing over our power to Him in all humility, to strip ourselves completely before Him with honesty and sincerity. When we allowed God to happen in us we could experience the embrace of the indwelling God. Slowly we entered in to a waiting silence before God awaiting for his word. As each day unfolded He visited us, surprised us and revealed himself to us.
Revelations born in silence:
My whole life and self are God’s work of art. He continues to create me in the Now moment and breathes His ineffable Love.
God has planted deep in Me His original purpose. He is a becoming word, calls me out of my narrow confines in to an ongoing process
In my intimacy with him God discloses my sinfulness and urges me to leave my hiding places with an invitation to make a choice between life and death and He gives a promise – I will give you Me and give You back to you.
I could discern my root sin and root grace with the authentic workings of the spirit. The dynamics and movements of the root sin operating in me is constantly being powered by God’s love. For he assures me that I am a loved sinner
When I feel loved and profoundly freed there is a constant desire in me to participate in his dream for me and for the world at large. There is also a shift in me to the other.
All that is happening around is God’s gifting of Himself to me.
Emerging New In Christ
In contemplating the Christ events we could meet the person of Jesus. It is through his total humanness; by entering in to deeper human relationships he revealed His divinely loving presence to persons especially to the poor, the out cast, and to the lesser privileged. We realized that becoming a disciple is a journey of a life time, it is to be constantly on the way. He has influenced us to embrace the realities in order to build a new world within and around. So our knowing Him more closely brought a new meaning into who I am. This knowing helped us mould the disciple in us.
A Vocation to
and suffering
Learning to be
still in prayer
Ready to be led
towards new options,
hardship, humiliation new horizons.
To be at peace with
Paradoxes, strong in
weakness, courageous
in rejection To walk into the reality and to pitch our tent in the
margins of thesociety.
To give to people
what money can’t buy
To be a foot
washing Master
Ambassadors of
Peace and reconciliation
The indwelling light of Christ in us impels us as to not to change the world but to become the change that we wish to see in the world, not to perform miracles but to live the true person in us. We are empowered to become anew in Him and to grow in to a greater consciousness of God within.
And now in the depths of our being there is a new transformation taking place.
To be - in the presence of God
a true love - towards self
Reaching out to the other in love & reverence
Our past has received healing and it’s gradually getting transported in to our new being. The past, persons and event are looked at differently with a new meaning. The ‘why’ of our existence is known. I am alive, for there is an inner identity. There is new freedom of a child of God, deeply loved by Him. The unfolding inner life is commanding a greater life….. yes to move beyond………for
One Man has dared to live a life entirely free
Shackled only by love
One man has dared to live a life for me
With hands nailed up by love
I meet him on my pilgrim way
He doesn’t tell me how or where to sing my song,
He only hurts when I sing it wrongNow I stand true to myself, to give all myself
It’s ours to help a new day on its way
When eyes stare into flames for a while,
Something happens to the soul;
It catches fire.
Yes, the fire in the ashes was kindled in our sacred moments of togetherness, searching and surrendering.
Now rooted in God, we go to the world with………
Unity and belongingness
Pardon and reconciliation Universality beyond differences
Mutual dialogue and trust Passion for mission
The inner freedom Tranquility
Non-judgmental awareness Franciscan minority
Humanness and good will Cosmic consciousness
Solidarity with the poor The openness to give and receive
Empowerment of women - this was the one aim of Blessed Mary of the Passion in serving the less fortunate that led her to open educational institutions, health-care services and set up small income-generating works for women. We respond to the cry of the poor, the oppressed and the marginalized, especially the women through the same services today. We work for the integrity of creation through non-violence and eco-justice, sharing God's gifts with all.
Her farsightedness in establishing a printing press in the 19th century itself, to publish The Annals of the Institute as a means of sharing news and views with the wider public has set the trend for us to utilize the potent means of the media to communicate the compassionate face of God to all peoples thereby promoting communion and human relationships.
